Chain link fenceis available in many finishes, such as electro galvanized or hot dipped galvanized, pvc coated with a bright color. While I negotiate with my customers, many of them can not decide to choose between electro-galvanized chain link fence and hot dip galvanized chain link fence.

Electro galvanized can be also called cold galvanized. It is a technology that we put metal into a electrolyte solution with zinc, then we will use electric to galvanize the wire, then zinc will be coated on the surface of the wire. Electro galvanized chain link fence can be smooth and since less zinc on the surface, electro galvanized wire is not so thick. Zinc thickness can be 3-15um.Electro galvanized wire also has many colors like yellow or white.

Hot dip galvanized is a technology that we will melt the zinc first and let the metal through the zinc solution, then the zinc will be attached to the surface. Hot dip galvanized chain link fence wire can be thicker (the zinc can be 45um to 300um) but it can be also lasts for 10 years. Hot dip fence can only have one color that is zinc color. As for the price, Hot dip galvanized chain link fence can be dearer than electro galvanized chain link fence.
