Different fences, different posts.Fence panel can be matched with round post, square post, peach post, I post, etc. The most common used posts are square post and round post for their simple and cheap property. Peach post is nice but expensive, I post is rarely used. Plastic fence roll (holland fence) is matched with holland post. Chain link fence with round post as usual, 2.5 or 3m C to C per post.

As for the color of post, it is better the same or similar to the fence panel or roll. Galvanized fence with galvanized post, polymer coated fence with polymer coated post. And keep the RAL color the same.

As for choosing the size of post, it is a subjest need experience.Square post for 5mm or 4mm panel is usually 60x60mm or 50x50mm O.D., thickness usually 1.5mm or 2.0mm; for 6mm or even thick wire, 60x60mm or 80x80mm O.D. , thickness 2.0mm, 2.5mm or even thicker. Roud post, the most common used for fence panel is 60mm and 48mm. Holland post, usually is 48mm and 60mm, powder coated finished. And the round post for chain link fence usually can be divided line post 60mm or 48mm, end post 75mm or 60mm. If customer also need gate, the gate post should be larger than fence post, square 80x80mm, round 90 or 100mm, etc.
